Cam Ranh Airport at a glance
Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) is the airport for Nha Trang. Vietnam's national tourism administration puts it about 30 km (19 mi) south of the city. That is a rough figure, not a measured hotel-to-terminal distance, so the real drive depends on where you sleep and on traffic.
The airport lists reference prices for its ground transport. They are not guaranteed offers, and a driver can quote something different. Treat the numbers below as a way to spot an unusual quote, then check the current price before you ride.

Getting from the airport to Nha Trang
Reference prices listed by the airport in 2026, unless the row says otherwise.
| Option | Time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Bus line 18 to Dat Moi | About 50 to 60 min | VND 50,000 per person per trip |
| Airport taxi (T2), Quoc Te, 4 seats | โ | VND 300,000 |
| Airport taxi (T2), Quoc Te, 7 seats | โ | VND 360,000 |
| Private car | About 45 to 60 min | VND 350,000 to 500,000 |
| Grab (airport to Nha Trang route) | โ | Shown in the app |
The taxi rows are one operator's figures and not a rate for every taxi. The airport's table lists the private car price as "per person per trip", which is unusual for a car. Confirm whether the quote is per person or per vehicle before you agree.
The airport bus, line 18
The cheapest way into town, and the one with the most moving parts.
Price and time
The airport lists the bus at VND 50,000 per person per trip in 2026, with a ride of about 50 to 60 minutes. The same page also lists a "Vinbus" with identical price, time and route, so it appears to be the same line.
The listed route
The published city route runs from the 19/8 stadium past 10 Tran Hung Dao (the provincial library), Nguyen Thien Thuat and 1 Tran Quang Khai to Phuc Loc, the Cam Lam roundabout and Company 71, then to the airport. Stop names on paper can lag behind what is signed on the street, so confirm your stop with the driver.
What to check first
Departure points at each terminal, the first and last bus, the frequency and the price for luggage are not published in the sources we use. Ask at the airport information desk, and keep a taxi or Grab as a fallback for late arrivals.

Taxi, private car and Grab
The airport taxi desk is the simplest option after a long flight. The listed Quoc Te prices from the T2 terminal are VND 300,000 for a 4-seat car and VND 360,000 for a 7-seat car to Nha Trang. Use a metered or pre-priced taxi, and agree the price before you get in.
Grab operates an airport to Nha Trang route and a Bai Dai to Nha Trang route, according to the company's driver information from June 2026. A typical fare is not published, so open the app, enter your hotel and compare the in-app price with the taxi quote. Pick-up rules at the terminal can change, so check them in the app.
A private transfer booked through your hotel costs VND 350,000 to 500,000 for 45 to 60 minutes on the airport's list. It makes sense for late arrivals or for groups with a lot of luggage.

Parking at the terminal
If you drive or are picking someone up, parking in front of the terminal is available around the clock. For cars with up to 9 seats the rate is VND 9,000 for the first 30 minutes and VND 4,000 for each further 30 minutes. The tariff has applied since 1 June 2025 until further notice.
Before you land
Entry rules change, so confirm them before you travel. As of October 2026, German citizens can visit for tourism for up to 45 days without a visa under an exemption listed from 15 March 2025 to 14 March 2028. Swiss citizens have 45 days from 15 August 2025 to 14 August 2028. Austrian citizens need a visa, and the e-visa runs up to 90 days. US citizens need a visa before the trip. Germany also asks for a return or onward ticket and at least six months of passport validity. Authorities describe a pre-arrival declaration differently, so ask your embassy what applies to your flight.
Your first night is easier if you know the area. Our guide to where to stay in Nha Trang covers the neighborhoods, and the weather page explains what to pack for your month. Day trips such as VinWonders and the bay islands start from the city, not from the airport.
Heading north along the coast afterward? Hoi An is an old town on the central coast, and Phu Quoc is a beach island in the far south.
